Well, it’s been a second since I’ve posted. I contemplated what would be my coming back post on Business Class. My choice weighed heavily on the fact that my Ecuadorian friend is convinced that I have the soul of a truck driver, so I decided to go with a post about Jim Jones. I have always held a keen interest in religious cults most likely because I hail from the state of Texas who has had it’s own bouts with religious sects and cults, like the big Texas polygamist bust last year, and my hometown cult, The House of Yahwey. I recently watched an amazing PBS documentary called, ‘Jonestown: The Life and Death of People’s Temple,’ and I must say, it is probably one of the scariest movies I have ever seen.
Yesterday we were very blessed to hang out with Mavado, aka The Gully God. Max and I brought him out for a shopping spree at the Lacoste boutique on Fifth Avenue here in New York City.
Mavado is one of my favorite living, recording artists and I don’t think there’s any question about his hit, “I’m So Special,” being the dancehall smash of the last year. His new single, “So Blessed,” is quickly on its way to mashing things up in a big way too.
Business Class is an artist collective that creates works spanning a variety of mediums including music, publishing, apparel, film, television, and the visual arts.
